Master Student Project / Internship:

Implementation of Actionable outcome in Neurorehabilitation (IMPACT)

Workplace:         Lake Lucerne Institute AG, Switzerland, remote 50%

Project duration: 3-6 months (flexible) at 100%, starting from June 2024

Supervision: Andre Böni cand. PhD; Johannes Pohl cand. PhD; Laura Mayrhuber cand. PhD

Project background: With the emergence of new technologies, the ability to quantify human movement is becoming increasingly accessible to healthcare professionals. Instrumental movement analysis will significantly capture the individual’s health status in the coming years. A precise and objective evaluation of movement quality and real-life physical activities broadens the understanding of human movement behaviour and allows for individualised intervention approaches.  However, interpreting clinically relevant parameters of individuals with neurological impairments remains challenging.

The primary objective of this project is to investigate experts' experience and knowledge of relevant information needed to interpret parameters derived from movement analysis.

To achieve this goal, we conduct focus groups in a multi-centre approach, collecting healthcare professionals’ opinions on the clinical relevance and optimal use for enhancing informed decision-making.

Your asks:

  • Assistance in conducting multi-stakeholder focus groups within leading Swiss rehabilitation facilities.
  • Use and optimise AI-driven software for transitions and content coding.
  • Transcribe discussion recording.
  • Conduct a thematic analysis and visualise the data.

Your profile:

  • Background in psychology, social sciences, and health sciences.
  • Preferably already worked with qualitative data
  • High level of German-speaking and writing

The foundation works closely with a neurorehabilitation centre to ensure true multi-stakeholder integration within each research project.

We offer:

  • A unique and stimulating work environment combining world-class neurorehabilitation practice with cutting-edge research.
  • Direct exposure and deep integration with a clinical research environment, incorporating a wide range of practitioners and patients.
